The Barlow Report…
Well, I did it. I reached my fund raising target of £400. In fact I beat it and went on to set the bar to £1,000 and I do hope that you will help me reach this target, which is for a really worthy cause.
Caroline – getting set for her ‘challenge’ complete with i-Pod
I also ran the whole 10K in an hour. A job well done – even if I do say so myself. And who would have expected I’d survive the ordeal – not me that’s for sure. The St Johns’ Ambulance was standing by but, fortunately no stretcher was required!
Tired – but job complete and very well done!
I’d just like to say a very big thank you to everyone that supported me, be it through sponsorship, sign making or cheering from the side lines. A special thank you to my long suffering brother who took me running across all terrains and in all weathers to prepare me. I’d never have been able to do it if it wasn’t for his support and of course the magic routine.
Support from the ‘Barlow’ Brigade
On the day, the running conditions were great, the marshals and other runners were all great, the crowd was great, but unfortunately it wasn’t a perfect day; the mighty North team (my team) were beaten by the South; by a mere 23 seconds – I am gutted!
Still, we all got a medal at the end of the days. So we’re all technically winners. Well done to everyone that took part.
If you’d like to join me for next years Nike 10k, training starts next Monday – bring your best running feet. 🙂
The Charity is extremely grateful to Caroline for taking up this challenge on behalf of HAPC. By Caroline’s own admission, she is not very sporty, and so her achievement is all the more remarkable. HAPC is now going to to help Caroline reach her new £1,000 target and appeal to well wishes to please donate any spare cash to her secure on-line account http://www.justgiving.com/runbarlowrun.
Thanks agian Caroline – aka Barlow!
