Launch of Cash Box Collection Programme

25th October 2006

The Charity is seeking volunteers to increase its fund-raising efforts with the launch of its Office, Stores & Street collection programme.

Collections can take place in stores, shops or office reception areas. This requires volunteers to obtain authorised sealed cash boxes (see image below) from the charity promoter. The promoter will manage the collection.

A collection cannot take place in a street or public place unless the charity promoter, has obtained a licence from the local district council and the strict regulations are observed.  First we need a team of volunteers, so that a definite date can be set to organise a street collection.  If you can help, please call or email the charity on info@helpapoorchild.com.

The Current law on street and house to house collections is due to be replaced by Part III of the Charities Act 1992, which was subject to consultation in late 1994. Results and conclusions are expected soon. However until further notice, all concerned should continue on the basis of the existing law.
