Fundraising Dinner & Dance – Leicester,UK

25th November 2005

The dinner-dance held at Athena Conference and Banqueting in Leicester Friday 25th November 2005 to raise funds for child victims of earthquake in South Asia was a huge success, in terms of attendance and fund raising.

HAPC (Leicester) representative, Abdul Razak Osman and Vasant Bakta (MrB) the main organisers, believe the amount raised currently stands at £10,245.

Earthquake – The Media Helps

25th Anniversary Gala Ball

1st October 2005

The 25th Anniversary fund-raising Gala Ball held on 1st October 2005 at the Harrow Leisure Centre UK, was an evening not to be forgotten by the 1,000 guests who attended the event.  Treasurer Chris Green said he was delighted but not surprised by the generosity of those who attended, as we have always had their support – it’s as if people came to this function with a clear determination to help the charity.

Tsunami Children’s Village

HAPC’s plans to build a children’s village to care for some of the tsunami orphans, is now gaining momentum following the painstaking efforts of the Chennai committee and in particular, the co-ordinator of this project, Rev. Anjaneyan Govindasamy. The following is his report.

After visiting several sites, we have settled on building the village in The Nilgiris, and the process of land acquisition is under way.
