We are turning back the clock and have invited “NIGHT FEVER” from Canada, the great and talented UK band of the 80’s, to entertain you.
Night Fever will be kindly supported by musicians from all the other great bands who have been entertaining our guests with their fabulous music over the years.
As of now, teaming up with the ever popular Maz & Co, we are delighted to confirm Julian Desmier, the vocalist with the unmistakable golden voice from JD Session Sounds, drummer Joe D’Mello from AM Crusade, the evergreen and inspirational musician Ben DeSouza from Black Velvet, keyboard player Franz Black and bass guitarist Eddie Fernandes from Oasis.

Christmas atop Kilimanjaro
Ricky Rodrigues one of HELP A POOR CHILD’s (HAPC) ambassadors has decided to embark on a huge challenge this Christmas to help support HAPC, by climbing the world’s highest free-standing mountain, Kilimanjaro. He will be trading in the home comforts of Christmas time and embarking on a 6 day trek which will see him summit on Christmas Day. What he is doing is extraordinary and he has already raised £1505.00, trebling his original target and, with your help, this figure can only grow. Any amount large or small will help the children of Jarra Soma (location of the HAPC Children’s Village school) and others get the education they deserve and would make a massive difference to the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves.
August 2014
The second Malcom Smart classroom is now up and running and we are pleased to report that 35 more children have been enrolled for the 2014/2015 school year. This means the HAPC Gambia Children Village school now has a total of 135 students and we now have Nursery ONE, TWO and THREE.
March 2014
HAPC (UK) representative, Druve Patel visited the HAPC Gambia Village School and presented lots of school material taken from gifts received in the UK. The items comprised of exercise books, chalk, van cards, pencils, color pencils, scissors, markers etc; and many other relevant school materials. A cash balance of GMD1600.00 was also handed to the project Manager to purchase other necessary needs of the children. Druve explained that a lot more school material had been collected in the UK for the school and after a conversation with the Governor, transportation has now been arranged for the delivery of such supplies.
After a successful pilot exercise, Phase 2 of the school building programme begins.
Our Gambia Children’s Village School project is making good progress with almost 100 children already admitted in part of the school, where construction has been completed.
HAPC is now looking for essential funding, desperately required to start construction of Phase 3 of the school and to help with running costs.
HELP A POOR CHILD would like to extend its sincerest thanks to all sponsors for supporting the New Year’s Eve Gala Ball. All donated so generously in the form of gifts, which contributed hugely to the success of our fundraising efforts.
We could not have done it without your help!
